The Town Hall Meeting at the White Crystal Inn had what the RDKB officials stated as a very "surprisingly good turnout" despite the fact that some sporting event over in Lotus Land went and planned their opening ceremonies on the same evening. With approximately 40 local stakeholders in attendance the turnout can only suggest that people who care about the community are concerned and want to see change.

Making the long journey from the Regional District of Kootenay Boundary office in Trail was Bill Baird (Area E Director), Theresa Lenardon (Executive Assistant), John Mclean (CAO RDKB),  and Marguerite Rotvold (Midway Director and Board Chair).   Once the opening ceremonies were complete, the event kicked off with a bounty of pie charts and graphs outlining the proposed spending for the next 5 years. John Mclean was the first up, and due to his thorough preparation and well done presentation along with the fact that there were no significant changes from past years (ahem), nobody choked on their pie charts. It was a tough call for our judges,

Picture that same skier standing there gazing out over the acres of white stuff, the tracks of others can be plainly seen making you think it must be safe if others are doing it. You read the signs again "CAUTION AVALANCHE DANGER SKIING OUT OF BOUNDS MAY RESULT IN
